I think we can agree that Washington has a budgetary issue, and that we need spending cuts. Spending cuts in itself is not a problem, we need that, because Washington does spend too much and there is very little accountability on how taxpayer money is spent. That being said, the kind of automatic spending cuts, the so-called “sequester” is taking place in the worst partisan spirit. Instead of deciding on what, where and how things should be cut, the Washington circus decided to give up on negotiation and compromise for the sake of the nation. Well, perhaps that’s the crisis that we need, for Washington to learn its lesson.
