The first lady’s got a spending problem.

As President Obama goes to Northern Ireland for the G8 summit, Michelle Obama went with their 2 daughters as well. It is estimated the two-day trip in Ireland and Northern Ireland would cost American taxpayers $5 million. Irish media reported that the first lady booked 30 hotel rooms for herself and her entourage, with her very hotel suite costing $3,300 per night.

Moreover, the first family will be visiting 3 African countries in the end of June. It is estimated that the African trip would cost about $100 million.

The Democratic Party has long labeled itself as the political party that care for the middle and lower classes. The first family’s spending habits, however, only shows that they have lost touch with the common people during a time when many American families are suffering financially.

The White House needs to get its spending problem under control.
